Handle as dust and as an eye irritant. Use protective gloves, and eyewear, and avoid breathing dust. Store in a cool, dry place. Use only in water under a pH of 8.2. Store in a tightly-closed container or bag. Alum is hygroscopic and will absorb moisture from the air causing the material to clump.
Do not ingest. Avoid breathing powder. Avoid skin and eye contact. Dusty conditions may irritate the eyes and respiratory system

Smith Creek Pond Clear water treatment is a 2 part alum and bicarbonate product that coagulates and settles suspended solids. Quickly clears your pond. You will notice an improvement in water clarity in as little as 24 hours.

Clears turbid, cloudy water of suspended solids. Smith Creek Pond Clear will settle suspended solids present at the time of treatment. As additional material is introduced from sources such as runoff, re-treatment will be required.
Smith Creek Pond Clear comes in two parts. First, thoroughly dissolve part A in 1 gallon of water per pound of Alum ( this can take a day or more depending on agitation and mixed water temperature).
Apply as much part A as you can in 20 minutes, then apply part B over the same area in the same manner. Do not mix parts A and B, this will cause the product to foam and possibly spill or increase the chance of unwanted skin or eye contact Each part must be dissolved separately in water and sprayed over the surface. To be effective your entire pond should be treated at one time.
Water treated with Two-Part Pond Clear 10 lb. has no use restrictions.
