A floating pond fountain head lets you turn an existing pump into a working fountain display without buying a complete fountain system. The EasyPro AquaFloat is a floating pond fountain head that attaches to virtually any pump with a 2" male threaded outlet — pool pumps, irrigation pumps, sprinkler pumps, submersible pumps, even a gasoline trash pump — and delivers a professional spray pattern on the water surface. Choose your nozzle, hook up your pump, and you have a fountain.

Smith Creek Field Notes

This is the setup we recommend when someone already has a working pump on their property and doesn't want to spend $800–$2,000 on a complete fountain system. The AquaFloat is genuinely versatile — we've seen it running off irrigation pumps, old sump pumps, and dedicated fountain pumps. The float handles itself in any water depth from about 3 feet on up, and the nozzle threads on and off in seconds for cleaning. The key thing to get right is pump pressure. Match your pump's GPH and head pressure to the spray pattern chart before you buy — the fountain won't perform properly if your pump is undersized. Call us if you need help sizing: (833) 326-5253.

Is This Right for Your Pond?

✅ Use this floating pond fountain head if:

  • You already have a compatible pump with a 2" male threaded outlet
  • You want a fountain display without the cost of a complete system
  • You want flexibility to swap nozzle patterns without replacing the whole unit
  • Your pond or lake is at least 3 feet deep
  • You want to add surface aeration and visual appeal at the same time

⚠️ Keep in mind:

  • Pump is not included — you need a pump with a 2" male threaded outlet
  • Spray pattern and height depend entirely on your pump's GPH and head pressure — use the spray pattern chart in the product photos to match your pump
  • The float is 24" in diameter — factor that into placement for smaller ponds
  • Rope tethers are not included — two stainless steel eye hooks on the bottom of the float allow tethering if using a submersible pump
  • Not sure if your pump is compatible? Call us: (833) 326-5253

Nozzle Options

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a floating pond fountain head?

A floating pond fountain head is a float-mounted nozzle assembly that sits on the water surface and connects to a pump below. Water is pumped up through the float and out through the nozzle, creating a spray pattern above the surface. It's the nozzle-and-float component only — the pump is separate.

Do I need a special pump for the EasyPro AquaFloat?

Any pump with a 2" male threaded outlet will connect to the AquaFloat's 2" female thread inlet. This includes submersible pumps, external pumps, irrigation pumps, sprinkler pumps, sump pumps, and gasoline trash pumps. What matters most is that the pump delivers enough GPH and head pressure for your chosen nozzle — refer to the spray pattern chart in the product photos.

Can I change the nozzle pattern after purchase?

Yes. The nozzle threads on and off easily. Additional nozzle patterns — Wide Umbrella, Narrow Umbrella, and Rocket — are available separately as replacement AquaFloat nozzles. You can swap nozzles in minutes without any tools.

What's the difference between the three nozzle patterns?

The Wide Umbrella (ACF2N) produces a broad, low V-shaped spray — classic fountain look, maximum surface coverage. The Narrow Umbrella (ACF3N) has a tighter V with more height and less spread — better for smaller ponds. The Rocket (ACF1N) shoots a single tall vertical column — the most dramatic, highest display of the three.

How deep does my pond need to be?

The AquaFloat can operate in water depths from approximately 3 feet up to any depth. There is no maximum depth — the float keeps the nozzle at the surface regardless of how deep the pond is.

Does the fountain head come with tethers or anchoring equipment?

No. The float includes two stainless steel eye hooks on the bottom for attaching tether ropes, but the ropes themselves are not included. Tethering is recommended when using a submersible pump to keep the float positioned correctly over the pump.

Can I use this floating pond fountain head on a lake?

Yes — the AquaFloat works in ponds and lakes of any size. The float handles any water depth and the nozzle produces a strong enough display to be visible from a distance. For very large lakes you may want a higher-HP pump to achieve impressive spray height.

How do I clean the nozzle?

The nozzle threads off by hand. Rinse with clean water and use a soft brush to clear any debris from the nozzle ports. Thread it back on and you're done. EasyPro designed the threaded nozzle specifically for easy maintenance — no tools required.

What spray height can I expect?

Spray height depends on your pump's output and the nozzle you choose. The spray pattern chart in the product photos shows approximate heights for common GPH and head pressure combinations. Match your pump specs to the chart before purchasing to set realistic expectations for your display.

Is this fountain head the same as a complete pond fountain system?

No. A complete pond fountain system includes the pump, float, nozzle, and power cord as a matched unit. This floating pond fountain head is the float and nozzle only — ideal if you already have a compatible pump or want to build your own system. Seasonal Notes

Spring

Reinstall the float and reconnect your pump once water temperatures are consistently above freezing. Check the nozzle for any debris or mineral buildup from last season and clean before powering up. Confirm tether lines are secure if you use them.

Summer

Peak display season. Surface agitation from the fountain helps oxygenate the water and reduces algae growth by breaking up surface stagnation. The AquaFloat requires no maintenance during operation beyond keeping the nozzle clear.

Fall

Continue running the fountain as long as water temperatures allow — surface aeration in fall helps maintain oxygen levels heading into winter. Remove the float and nozzle before the first hard freeze, rinse clean, and store dry.

Winter

Remove the AquaFloat from the water for winter storage. Store the float and nozzle indoors or in a dry protected space. Do not leave the plastic float submerged in freezing water — ice expansion can stress the float material over time.
