Arrived alive and well and doing great in the pond

Arrived alive and well and doing great in the pond.

The snails arrived very quickly in perfect healthy conditions, they all came out of hybernation only a couple hours after putting them in my pond and started working on the algae. These guys are terrific at their job! The water has been clear since. Not only that, but with a population of both males and females (with a predominant female majority), they started reproducing very quickly, so i already have double the amount of snails, which is exactly what i needed!

A Koi Ponds best friend…

These snails immediately began to eat algae in our koi pond and have made a significant difference. This is our second order and we are not disappointed. Very large snails were received. Customer service has been great and shipping quick. We would not hesitate to purchase from this company again.

Snails

I ordered the 12 pack of snails Tuesday night and they came Saturday morning, they were packed in liquid. All survived 🙂. And while it might be different for everyone else's order, I got 14 adults and so many babies I couldn't even count. Thank you guys for the snails

I had problems with the first batch and called you

I had problems with the first batch and called you. Due to the Holiday they didn't arrive in time and were dead, and smelt bad. You have always been reputable with me in the past and sent out another batch
Not only were the Japanese Trapdoor Snails healthy, but I received about 20 little baby snails as well
Thanks Again for your Great Customer Service I always let everyone know that you are the BEST!!!

Good size, healthy snails. Effective algae control.

They're thriving. I was a little concerned when they arrived in dirty-looking water, but they were all active within an hour of going into my backyard pond. I was very pleased by the size of the five I ordered, and was also appreciativd of the freebie juveniles that were in the bag. My hair algae problem is already under control thanks to these guys.

Looked like they would have been great but didn’t survive shipping

I am sure they would have been great if they only survived the shipping. Took 5 days to reach their destination with no survivors. Expensive $100 lesson. I didn’t realize they were coming from NY and I am in CO. Either find a closer option or ship 1-2 days.

Healthy Japanese Trapdoor Snails

Japanese Trapdoor snails arrived well packaged and transitioned into the ornamental pond with no problems - all alive and of fairly large size. Some remained hidden under plants for a couple days, but one week in all are traveling around the pond eating the string algae, etc. Very pleased.

My snails arrived quickly and alive.

My snails arrived quickly, they were well packed and all of them were alive. And better yet- they were beautiful big snails. I followed the instructions that were included for acclimating them to the pond and now they are cruising around and munching on the algae. My pond is noticeably cleaner. I highly recommend!

Trapdoors To My Door

My baker's dozen of trapdoor snails arrived very well packaged in water and are happily scooting around the pond. The last package of snails I received from a different, well known, supplier, arrived wrapped in wet paper towels with half of them crushed. Smith Creek will be my go to.

Greatsnails!

I ordered a small amount of pond snails, and these came right away! They were healthy and lively within a few minutes of getting them into my pond, and are scooting around eating algae and other stuff :) They actually gave me one extra, either a miscount in my favor or 1 extra just in case one didn't survive. Regardless, if I need anymore, I will certainly buy again.

Great purchase with a bonus

I purchased a 5 pack, they arrived as scheduled. All were alive, healthy, and big. Then there’s the bonus. I actually received 6 large snails. I assume an extra for possible mortality. Then there’s the best part. I mysteriously have 3 tiny ones appear. I read they would bear fully developed offspring. I assume they arrived carrying young. So I ended up with 9 healthy snails for the money.

Great Healthy Snails

All the Japanese Trapdoor Snails arrived large and healthy. They have been in the pond for two weeks now and seem to be thriving. We even noticed what appears to be babies around one of the snails. Hopefully we will see some reduction in algae soon.

Our initial order of 25 Japanese Trap Door Snails was promptly shipped, but never arrived (presumably lost in the great void that is the postal service.) We called Smith Creek Lake and Pond, who requested we wait another few days, which we agreed to do. Without any further contact from us, Smith Creek sent another shipment, most likely noting that there had been no delivery. The second batch of snails did arrive, in good shape, all passengers appearing to be alive. Excellent product and excellent customer service. Very much appreciated.

Trapdoor snails

Love these snails! Package arrived in great shape, and all 12 snails survived! They were shipped during a 90+ degree heat spell, so there was some concern, but the packaging kept them cool. Ordering again because I underestimated how many I needed.

Great Addition to Frog Sanctuary

These snails are doing a fantastic job of cleaning our frog pond. They are fun to watch, as well, because they move around so quickly. I’ll count everybody and then walk by awhile later and then they’re all in totally different locations. I never knew that I could feel all fuzzy about snails, but I do….and all 13 of these babies made the trip from New York to Tennessee!

Japanese Trapdoor Pond Snails

I recently purchased 25 snails from Mith Creek Lake and Pond. Communication with the seller was excellent. They delayed shipment due to holiday for the safety of the snails. I was kept informed. The shipment arrived safely and every snail was alive and well. The snails are now in my pond and I am very satisfied. I highly recommend doing business with Smith Creek!!

Black Japanese Trapdoor Pond Snails - Algae Eaters

Japanese Trapdoor Snails (Viviparis malleatus) are the preferred species of snail for recreational and professional pond and water gardeners worldwide. Algae Eating Japanese Trapdoor Snails are one of the few snail varieties that can over-winter well and survive in harsher northern climates.

Algae Eating Japanese Trapdoor Pond Snails are a great asset in helping keep algae under control in your pond and water garden as they groom your plants, planting pots, and water garden rocks and walls.

Algae Eating Japanese Trapdoor Snails will tend to the bottom of the pond, consuming any decaying matter such as leaves, excess fish food, and even fish waste. Trapdoor Snails are live-bearing; they only breed a couple of times a year and will not take over your pond like other nuisance egg-bearing snails.

In order for your Trapdoor Snails to have a positive effect on algae growth, a minimum of 10 snails per 50 sq. feet will be needed, and farm ponds will need to have at least 200 Algae Eating Snails per acre to have any effect. Baby Japanese Trapdoor Snails are great forage for many mollusk-eating pan-fish and catfish species.
